Hike by the light of a full moon at Cass on November 5, 2022.

The “Beaver Moon” hike at Cass Scenic Railroad begins from the visitors center (to the left of the Company Store facing the store) at 6:30 p.m. The evening walk is about three miles round trip with a slight grade, but mostly flat walking. Please wear sturdy winter footwear and clothing it can be cold for evening hiking. Hike will be led by Park Superintendent Marshall Markley. The hike is open to the public and fee free.

November’s full moon is known as the Beaver Moon according to The Old Farmer’s Almanac. This was the time when beavers finished preparations for winter and retreated into their lodges.
