West Virginia State Parks – An Interpretative Series
Go! Hike – Wander – Explore! in the Great Outdoors

Hikes, walks, and birding opportunities are scheduled throughout the year at West Virginia State Parks and Forests. Most activities are day-only events, but some are weekends, such as Whistles, Wings and Wildflowers at Cass Scenic Railroad or Tracking and Woods Lore Weekend at Twin Falls.

Events on this page are generally an annual event and hosted by the area naturalist or other experts assisting the state park system with interpretative programming.

A complete list of all special events for the year (bike races, triathlons, dances, bluegrass weekends, dinner theaters and dinner trains, cruises, etc.) is maintained on the main Calendar. And because many visitors plan trips to specific parks for a special event, each park and forest webpage includes events for only that area.

Note: Online calendar is updated as events are scheduled and reported. Always contact the area to confirm times and dates. The park and forest event host is always the final decision maker on activity information.
