As we all look to 2016, I encourage you to invite a family member, friend, or colleague that may have never visited a state park or forest to enjoy one of West Virginia's treasures – our state parks.
This year we are including a "Chief's Challenge" to encourage outdoor activity. The focus is on hiking. The challenge is 100 miles on a state park or state forest trail, pathway, or designated roadway in the calendar year – 10 miles must be with a naturalist or hike leader; the other 90 miles are on the honor system.
I like to hike. Do you? A very simple enrollment is online with more challenge information posted on our website nearer January. http://www.wvstateparks.com/Hike_Challenge.html
If you participated in our marketing and economic impact surveys in 2015, we had a tremendous response. Thank you.
If you purchase West Virginia State Park gift cards for family or friends, thank you. The gift of a state park gift card means that you support parks and encourage others with your gift to do the same.
If you are enrolled in our VIPP visitation program, thank you. http://www.wvstateparks.com/community/vipp.htm
